She is one half of the world's most famous and beloved couples: Angelina Jolie. Since their pairing in 2005, Jolie and her and equally as famous actor long-term boyfriend Brad Pitt have taken the world by storm adopting and having children, performing charity work and starring in some of the biggest blockbusters of all time. Before her time as an ambassador to goodwill, she was firstly and still is a movie star. Many of her movies are shown on satellite TV movie stations and are not to be missed. Here are some of her best:

1. Girl Interrupted (1999) - Girl Interrupted is one of those movies that does not necessarily lend itself to high definition, but is shown on television stations throughout the premium and basic cable spectrum. Jolie plays Lisa Rowe, a woman in an insane asylum for mixed up girls. She is tough, raw and edgy and this movie is one of the first to make Jolie's name a household staple.

2. Lara Croft: Tomb Raider and Lara Croft Tomb Raider: The Cradle of Life (2001, 2003) - These action movies, filmed in the epically famous Angkor Wat temples (specifically Ta Phrom) in Siam Reap, Cambodia are filmed beautifully and are jam-packed with special effects. They are a must-see for any action lover in HD. What more could an action buff want? A beautiful, kick-ass girl raiding tombs. Consider her the feminist version of Indiana Jones.

3. Shark Tale (2004) – A movie for the whole family to enjoy, Angelina Jolie voices the seductive sea creature Lola in this successful animated picture that takes place under the sea. The movie is a cross between Disney favorites "The Little Mermaid" and "Finding Nemo" with its amazing underwater color scheme and vibrant computer animated characters and special effects not to be missed in high definition.

4. Mr. & Mrs. Smith (2005) – The movie that ignited the fire between the world's hottest couple, "Mr. & Mrs. Smith" stars Jolie and Pitt as a married couple that both work as secret agents plotting to kill the other. No wonder Jennifer Aniston was left in the dust after filming of this movie was completed; the chemistry between the two stars is hard to ignore. It is funny, action-packed and incredibly sexy with two of the world's most beautiful people as its leads. This is a film you do not want to miss when it comes on satellite TV.

5. Beowulf (2007) – Another film jam-packed with special effects, "Beowulf" is the film version of the classic British literature epic poem that almost every college student is required to study upon entering their basic freshman English class. Jolie makes good on the epic, bringing it to the big screen and HD television sets around the country, doing the anonymous author justice on one of the most famous poems of all time.
